Just a quick 'How To.." post about making and installing a dash.
To get started log in to the site and go to My Garage. From there add the vehicle details on the left hand side then click on ADD VHEICLE. Now on the right pane you can Create a dashboard. Clicking on that will open a small dialog box for giving it a name and a description. Once you do that click on choose template. There are a few basic ones there to get started or you can start with a blank one. Next it will open up the studio designer.
The left hand column will show you the available widgets broken up by category. Some are extra cost but there are a bunch of native ones too that will work with the dually. Expand each category and click on the widget, it will appear on the canvas. Now you can place, move, resize etc just like any other graphics program.
The 2nd column from the left shows the layers of widgets you have for that particular dashboard or preset. You can click on any of those and it will highlight it on the canvas. If you use presets, that list will change depending on the preset and what you have on it.
In the center as mentioned, is the canvas designer.
On the right hand column are the options for each widget. As you select a widget in the layers column or canvas, it will bring up a list of options for that particular widget. Each one is different.
Once you are satisfied with your dashboard, click on the big green BUILD APK button at the top of the canvas section. It will build a directly installable apk file. If you are using a chromium based browser, you will be able to tell it where to save it, but something like firefox will just download it in your default location.
When you hit download it will ask you if you want the companion app as well. This app installs separately on to the desktop and when launched will mirror the right hand screen on to the left screen. This is really handy when using the performance widgets and dont want to reach over to the other side to reset counters etc, and it makes it much easier to see. Hit OK to download it, or cancel if you already have it or dont need it.
Put the apk files on your USB A thumb drive and plug it in to the dually. Go to file manager, click on USB, find the files and install. Thats it.
This assumes you already registered your head unit with the system. The dually needs to be on the internet either wifi or phone hot spot etc when installing a new dashboard so it can verify the key and ensure enablement.
If you have any questions go to the Contact page and send a message, or post your question in the forums and they will be answered.
